Song of the Vanishing Glaciers (2025)

Mixed Media Installation

Video, Sound, Textile, Photos
by Coco Schwarz

This project captures the disappearance of glaciers through sound and image, transforming field recordings and video footage into an immersive sensory experience. Parachutes, shaped like mountains or glaciers, form the central visual element of the installation. Visitors walk around these structures while experiencing abstract video projections and electronic compositions derived from glacial sounds—cracking ice, flowing water, and shifting landscapes. The work serves as both an artistic and ecological statement, preserving the glaciers’ sonic and visual essence as cultural heritage.
